As an experienced smartphone filmmaker and vlogger, I know better than anyone that the right equipment can make all the difference in the quality of your videos and vlogs. This MOJOGEAR set (tripod, microphone, and light) for less than €70 is one I personally use and highly recommend. It's also a set I regularly recommend to my students.

Versatile Mini Tripod

The mini tripod has an adjustable ball head so you can film both horizontally and vertically with your phone. This is crucial for content creators who alternate between landscape and portrait modes and create both short-form video (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) and longer corporate videos or YouTube vlogs. The tripod provides stability and flexibility while filming, and it is amazingly lightweight. This makes it perfect for vloggers and filmmakers who are on the go or filming in different environments. Note: The tripod is not adjustable in height, I solve that myself by placing the tripod on something, for example a windowsill or cupboard.

My demands

As a professional smartphone filmmaker, mobility is essential to me, and this tripod meets my expectations. It fits easily in my handbag when I want to travel minimalist. As a vlogger, I am often on the road and travel to various locations at home and abroad for recordings.

Enhanced Audio with the Pin Microphone

Sound quality is often an underrated aspect of videos and vlogs, and the pin microphone in this set greatly improves my audio recordings. It eliminates background noise and picks up my voice clearly, making my videos sound more professional. The microphone is easy to connect to my smartphone and works without batteries, which makes it even more convenient. Wireless microphones seem useful, but in practice you are often left with an uncharged microphone or interference/noise, and then a pin microphone is an absolute life-saver.

Enhanced Exposure light

The light that comes with this set is a useful addition for low-light situations. The light is compact and easy to attach to the tripod. It provides soft and even lighting, so your face is well lit while vlogging. Although daylight is always preferable when making vlogs with your smartphone, it is sometimes inevitable that you end up in a situation with mediocre light. In that case, this light makes the difference between a mediocre recording and a high-quality recording.
