Wat is volt?

Volt staat voor elektrische spanning. Dit is het verschil in spanningsniveau tussen twee punten. Bij powerbanks bepaalt het voltage hoe snel en efficiënt je apparaat wordt opgeladen. De standaard uitgangsspanning bij powerbanks is vaak 5V, wat voldoende is voor regulier opladen van smartphones en kleinere apparaten.

Hoe werkt volt?

Bij snellaad technieken zoals USB Power Delivery of Quick Charge wordt het voltage verhoogd naar bijvoorbeeld 9V, 12V of zelfs hoger. Hierdoor kan meer vermogen worden geleverd zonder dat de stroomsterkte extreem hoog wordt, wat snelladen mogelijk maakt. Een hogere volt in combinatie met het juiste laadprotocol zorgt voor een kortere laadtijd en efficiënter opladen.
