The DJI Osmo 360 can shoot razor-sharp 8K footage. This is made possible in part by its square 1-inch HDR image sensor. The new sensor makes better use of the sensor's surface area, resulting in beautifully detailed photos and videos with low noise and excellent low-light performance. Furthermore, the device has a generous maximum battery life of 190 minutes when filming in 6K at 24 fps. You can also use the Osmo 360 in water up to 10 meters deep.

Features of the Osmo 360

The Osmo 360 is equipped with a number of handy features that are extremely useful, such as DJI's image stabilization: RockSteady 3.0, the various accessories that come with it and the weather resistance.

RockSteady 3.0 & HorizonSteady

The Osmo 360 features excellent image stabilization. RockSteady 3.0 is the same image stabilization as the Osmo Action 5 Pro. With RockSteady 3.0, you can film with incredible stability, even when you're bouncing around. For example, if you're cycling down a steep mountain bike trail, RockSteady 3.0 keeps the footage smooth and stable. This ensures that even your most intense action shots are enjoyable to watch. HorizonSteady also corrects horizontal movements, preventing the image from moving back and forth.

Weather and waterproof

The Osmo 360 is highly weather-resistant. The action cam is waterproof up to 10 meters. This makes it easy to use during various water sports, such as stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, swimming, and much more. If you want to go deeper than 10 meters with your Osmo 360, you'll need to purchase an underwater case. Besides being waterproof, the Osmo 360 is also resistant to extreme temperatures. It can still record for up to 1.5 hours at temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius.

Compact

The Osmo 360 is very compact for an action cam. Its dimensions are similar to those of the GoPro Max. This means the action cam won't get in the way when you're exercising. You can easily attach the action cam to your handlebars or a chest or helmet mount, without feeling like you're strapped to anything. The Osmo 360 weighs just 183 grams. So, if you're backpacking and don't want to carry too much weight, this is ideal.

Easy editing

DJI has also made post-processing easy. They offer a wealth of time-saving features. For example, the Osmo 360 features intelligent tracking. This automatically keeps your subject in focus, such as people, cars, and even animals. You can also easily switch between the camera's front and back views using DJI's editing assistant.

Filming in the dark

The Osmo 360's new square sensor lets you shoot incredibly sharp footage in the dark. The square sensor allows for significantly more light to enter, allowing you to see a wealth of contrast, color, and detail, even at night. This is a super handy feature if you often film in the dark.

Conclusion

The Osmo 360 has a lot of great features, you can film in 8K and the device has a long battery life. In addition, you can film very well in the dark, the image stabilization is very good and the device has almost all the specifications of the Insta360 X5 - and all for a much cheaper price. This makes the Osmo 360 definitely recommended if you are looking for a new action cam.
