GoPro Hero 13: Nieuwe functies & accessoires
The GoPro Hero 13 is finally here and comes with a bunch of new features and improvements. With the GoPro Hero 13 you can capture your sporting adventures even better. Think of being able to record for longer periods, new lenses, magnetic attachment and improved slo-mo. In this article we discuss the most important new functionalities and improvements for content creation.

#1 New lenses

The biggest improvement over the GoPro Hero 12 is the ability to connect lenses. The GoPro Hero 13 automatically recognizes the connected lens and knows which settings match the lens. The lenses are not supplied with the GoPro. You will have to order them separately. There are currently 3 types of lenses available: Macro lens, Ultra wide lens and ND filters. A fourth lens will be added soon, namely the Anamorphic lens.

The macro lens allows you to film 4 times closer than when using without a lens. This allows you to film small objects such as insects, flowers or small animals in much more detail.

The Ultra wide lens lets you record 36% wider and 48% wider than the standard lens of the GoPro Hero 13. This makes your shots while mountain biking or skiing look even more impressive. By using ND filters you can add motion blur to your photos or videos. An anamorphic lens provides a cinematic and dynamic effect.

#2 Improved battery capacity

The Enduro battery of the Hero 13 has a battery capacity of 1,900 mAh. The battery for the GoPro Hero 11 and 12 was 1,720 mAh. This means that you can record even longer with the new battery. In addition, GoPro has also made the battery more efficient. This allows you to record your coolest adventures for longer without having to worry about an empty battery.

Please note: The new Enduro battery for the GoPro Hero 13 is NOT compatible with older GoPro models.

Is your battery empty? You can always take extra batteries with you and change them on the go. You can also choose to charge the battery via the GoPro itself with a power bank between recordings.

#3 Safe charging during use

GoPro has developed a magnetic battery cover. This allows you to charge your GoPro via a magnet. This battery cover is waterproof. This allows you to charge your GoPro even in rough weather conditions. This is ideal if you want to make a timelapse. Now you can leave your GoPro outside without any worries and charge it at the same time. For example, you can choose to charge your GoPro outside via a power bank. The battery cover is also compatible with the GoPro Hero 10, 11 and 12.

#4 Improved Slo-mo

The GoPro Hero 13 is the first GoPro camera with a Burst Slo-Mo functionality. With this functionality, the GoPro Hero 13 can record 400 fps (frames per second) with a resolution of 720p. Because you can record with 400 fps, the image can be made even slower, while still giving a smooth image. The GoPro 13 can do this for 15 real-time seconds. With this you can highlight your jumps or other cool stunts even better.

#5 Magnetic Mounts

Often when you are recording a video, you want to film with different perspectives. This makes for a more dynamic and better viewing experience. However, not everyone has the budget to purchase multiple high-quality cameras and set them up at different angles and perspectives.

That's why you want to be able to switch between perspectives with 1 camera. This is now possible with the new GoPro mounting system. With this system you can quickly detach your GoPro by pressing 2 buttons (see photo) and switch from one mount to another in no time, for example from a chest mount or bike mount to a sticky mount on your helmet.
