The Ulanzi L023 40W Pro is a compact and powerful bi-color COB video light for photographers, videographers, and content creators. Despite its handy size, this light delivers a high light output and offers extensive options for precisely adjusting color temperature and brightness.
Thanks to the built-in 3400 mAh battery, you can also use the L023 wirelessly. You charge the lamp via USB-C with support for 65W PD or the DC connection, and you can continue using it while charging. Furthermore, weighing only 490 grams, the lamp is easy to carry and use handheld.
The L023 uses a powerful bi-color COB LED and delivers a maximum of 40W of power in normal mode. When temporary extra light is needed, you can enable overclock mode. The maximum power is then increased to 50W.
With the included reflector, the lamp achieves a maximum light output of 13,150 lux at 0.5 meters at 6500K. The beam angle is 120°, ensuring a wide distribution of light and making it suitable for a wide range of photo and video applications.
The color rendering index of CRI ≥95 ensures true-to-life color reproduction. This makes the L023 suitable for interviews, portraits, product photography, video productions, and content creation, among other things.
The L023 is equipped with a bi-color light source that allows you to set the color temperature from 2500K to 6500K. This allows you to easily switch between warm light for an atmospheric look and cooler light that corresponds to daylight.
The brightness is individually adjustable from 0 to 100%. This allows you to precisely fine-tune the light intensity to your subject, the desired atmosphere, and the ambient light.
For situations where more light is temporarily needed, the L023 features an overclock mode. In this mode, the power is increased from 40W to a maximum of 50W, allowing you to benefit from extra light intensity for a short period.
At maximum brightness and 50W power, the operating time is approximately 50 minutes. At a maximum of 40W power, you can use the lamp for approximately 70 minutes. In ECO mode and at minimum brightness, the operating time increases to approximately 180 minutes.
The built-in 3400 mAh battery with a capacity of 50.3 Wh enables wireless operation. This is especially useful during location shoots where no power outlet is available.
Charging is possible via the DC connection or via USB-C with support for up to 65W PD fast charging. A full charge takes approximately three hours. You can continue to use the lamp while charging. In that case, the maximum power is limited to 40W.
With dimensions of 10.5 × 8.5 × 8.5 cm without the reflector and a weight of only 490 grams, the L023 is particularly compact. You can easily carry it in photo or video bags and use it both handheld and on a tripod.
The lamp features a 1/4"-20 screw mount for tripod mounting. Additionally, the L023 is equipped with a Mini Bowens mount. This allows you to use various compatible light modifiers and accessories to direct or soften the light beam.
The included reflector provides a more focused beam of light, while the mini-diffuser makes the light softer and more even.
In addition to standard bi-color lighting, the L023 features eight built-in lighting effects. This allows you to easily add dynamic lighting effects to your photo or video production.
The effects make the lamp suitable for more than just standard lighting and offer additional possibilities for creative content, backlighting, and video recording.
