Various specifications and use cases are discussed, so that you can make the best choice.

We chose to compare the GoPro HERO 13 & the Insta360 Ace Pro 2, because GoPro's 360 degree action cam is from 2019 and is hardly sold anywhere anymore, which means that Insta360's 360 degree action cam is far ahead and they are more difficult to compare.

While the maximum battery life of the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is longer, the GoPro HERO 13 seems to have a longer battery life at some resolutions. For example, the GoPro HERO 13 has a battery life of 133 min in 4K at 30fps, while the AcePro 2 has a battery life of 112 min at the same settings. Additionally, the AcePro has a slightly wider angle of view and the storage capacity can be further expanded. Finally, the Ace Pro 2 can go 2 meters deeper under water.

Features of the GoPro HERO 13 compared to the Insta360 Ace Pro 2

The GoPro HERO 13 and Insta360 Ace Pro 2 are similar in many ways. For example, they both have good image stabilization, wide recording options, good HDR and more. There are still a few areas where the two action cams differ from each other.

Slow motion

Both action cams are equipped with slow motion, but GoPro has a unique feature that Insta360 does not have. Namely the so-called burst slow motion . With this you shoot images for 15 seconds at 400 fps which results in beautiful slow motion videos. The Insta360 can shoot a maximum of 120 fps slow motion. If you like to film cool tricks in slow motion, for example during winter sports or surfing, the GoPro HERO 13 seems a bit more suitable. However, the slow motion of the Insta360 is also very good and will suffice for most shots.

Filming in the dark

The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is equipped with a larger sensor, which allows the sensor to capture more light. This helps enormously when you are filming in the dark. In addition, the Insta360 also uses a software called PureVideo. This software improves the detail in poorly lit shots. This makes the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 the better choice when you want to record a lot in the dark or poorly lit environments.

Reversible touchscreen

The Insta360 Ace Pro has a touchscreen that you can turn around. This allows you to better see what you are filming while filming. Suppose you are filming while cycling, you can also choose to rotate the screen only 45 degrees. This allows you to easily see what you are filming from your cycling position. When you are filming yourself, you can also turn the screen completely around, so you can immediately see whether you are in the picture. A small adjustment that adds a lot of user-friendliness.

Modifications

GoPro has a number of modifications that you can attach to your GoPro. For example, the different lenses that you can attach to your GoPro. GoPro has a macro lens, ultrawide lens, ND filters and an anamorphic lens. This allows you to take different types of photos and videos with your GoPro. Such lenses are not available for the Insta360 Ace Pro 2.

Conclusion

When it comes to overall specs, the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 wins over the GoPro HERO 13. The differences in specs aren't huge, but the difference in resolution is noteworthy.

When you look at the different features it's kind of a draw and it will purely depend on your own preference.
