A charging cable is indispensable if you want to charge your phone, tablet, or laptop properly and safely. Not only the charger plays an important role, but also the right charging cable determines how quickly and efficiently your device charges. With a quality cable, you prevent voltage loss, overheating, and unnecessarily slow charging.

When choosing a charging cable, the connection type is particularly important. For most modern Android smartphones, tablets, and the iPhone 15 or newer, a USB-C charging cable is standard. If you use an iPhone 14 or older, you typically need a Lightning charging cable. For older devices and accessories, you might still encounter a Micro-USB charging cable.


The connection type on the charger side is also important. Many modern adapters use USB-C, as a USB-C charging cable supports higher power outputs and is therefore better suited for fast charging. USB-A is still common, but is less future-proof.

Always choose a good charging cable from a reliable brand. A quality cable supports the correct charging power and helps you charge safely. Poor cables can get hot, wear out faster, or cause your device to charge more slowly.

The charging speed always depends on three components: the charger, the charging cable, and the device itself. The weakest link ultimately determines the speed. For example, if you use a powerful charger and a high-power cable, but your phone supports fewer Watts, you will still charge at the maximum power of your device.

Do you want to use a charging cable for a tablet or laptop? Then preferably choose a cable that is suitable for Power Delivery (PD) and pay close attention to the supported wattage. This way you can be sure that your charging cable is suitable for safe and fast charging.
